Smart Building Apps is an end-to-end property management software. The app includes a wide variety of users with different needs; from residents (both renters and owners), to property managers to parking enforcement teams & more.
A few of the tools we created were: amenity bookings with COVID 19 protocols, a wide variety of requests from residents, managers and vendors, storage management, payment for guest suites & more.
Idea: Smart Building Applications is a SAAS property management solution. The idea was to be an end to end solution for property managers, including partnerships with tools that provided board coordination and rent payment. It had been on the marker for 5-6 years.
Problems to Solve: The product had been on the market for 5 years with minimal improvement. The goal was to modernize and reorganize the UX to better suit customer needs. There were many features that went underutilized mainly because user flow was not ideal and crowded.
Main Pain Points: User flow, customer onboarding and underutilized features as well as the need to modernize the look and feel.
Research Methods Used: Current client interviews & focus groups, review of data from analytics, market and competitor research, revamp of personas and customer journeys, prototype testing (mobile & desktop), surveys.
Key Outcomes: A full redesign of the product according to current industry standards. Improved customer comprehension of features and provided more support through a new wiki for clients to navigate as well as a chatbot.
